Lumeen – The magic of the Lyon Festival of Lights in virtual reality

Lumeen designs and delivers immersive virtual reality experiences for the healthcare and social care sectors, bringing well-being, escape, and social connection to hospitalized patients, nursing home residents, and people with reduced mobility.

As part of this mission, Lumeen has produced an immersive work dedicated to the Lyon Festival of Lights, a landmark event that lights up the streets of France’s capital of the Gauls every December. For four days, international artists and creative collectives transform the city into an open-air theater of light, attracting millions of enchanted visitors each year.

Thanks to advanced immersive capture techniques and the expertise of Adventice, Lumeen makes this dazzling event accessible to those who can no longer attend in person. Spectators can wander through Lyon’s squares and monuments illuminated by spectacular light installations, as if they were really there.

For some, it is the rediscovery of familiar heritage in a completely new light; for others, a first encounter with one of Europe’s most spectacular festivals. In every case, it is an experience that inspires wonder, emotion, and moments of sharing.
